Martedi Grasso. Fat Tuesday.

Ciao! Hope you all had a good Fat Tuesday. While I didn't go over the top today, and I definitely could have, I had a good day. I went to class early this morning where we talked about the creation of gender roles in society and we looked at some data that our professor had collected from us the week prior. It was a very interesting class.
After class we went to Gusta Pizza, because what else makes a good Fat Tuesday lunch? Today I decided to try yet another new pizza. This time I got the Calzone Napoletano which had salame, ricotta, mozzarella, and tomatoes. It was very good, but very hard to eat. It was trying to eat it with a fork and knife. It probably would've been easier had I just picked it up and eaten it with my hands.

We took our pizzas to go because there was not room to sit down today so we all went back to school to eat, to work on homework and nap.  During my Italian class I presented my summary on the Pope's resignation and on how conclave works. It went very well and we had a good discussion afterwards.

Tonight for dinner we had a bowtie pasta in a cream sauce with some sausage.

Then we had some fried chicken and some focaccia bread.

Finally for dessert we had more of the doughnuts that are eaten during carnival. I got to have four today! :) My mother and I had quite a laugh watching Andrea inhale his four!

As I was finishing my last doughnut I asked my mother what the fruit flavor in it was. She said that it was lemon. She then proceeded to get out a bottle of a dessert liquor and we each had a very, very tiny shot. It was good. Salut to Lent!

Well, that is all for now. I have 15 minutes to decide what I will be giving up for Lent, so I better get a move on!

A domani!
