I took her to PaniniK, because she had not been there yet. She really liked it and will be going back! (The lady that works there should really be giving me commission for all of the business that I am bringing her!) We both got the Fiesole sandwich, which had salami, aged pecorino cheese, and lettuce. We were very hungry and were walking and eating so by the time I was able to get my camera out it was all gone. Sorry! :(
After we got back to school we had our psychology class for 3 hours. Today during my break I went down to the little vending machine again. This time I got the cioccolato forte. It was extra dark hot chocolate and was delicious! I'm glad I finally found a use for all of these coins that I have!
In class we talked about the book we were reading "An Italian Education". I would highly recommend this book to people, as well as any of Tim Parks' other books.
After psych we had Italian. All of the Italian classes had a test today, so everyone was hanging around studying today. It's really cool watching everyone try and help each other and all of the different levels comparing things they've learned and providing tips to people.
We all think the test went really well.
It must've been the good old Ticonderoga pencil that helped me do so well! Yes, Dad, I brought the Ticonderogas all the way from the U.S! You can never take a test without one!
Luckily for me, as well as Sarah, we take all 3 of the exams but they will take the highest grade and that will be our test grade for the test portion of our class grade. A small perk of being in the advanced class. Today we also talked with our professor as well as the academic coordinator about how our assignments and class will be different from the 1004 level (because we have a combined class). So after some discussion we decided that we will be doing 2 journal entries a week, in Italian, that we will turn into our teacher. (This will help with our writing.) Also, we will find an interesting or important story in the Italian or local news that we will present to everyone at the beginning of class. (This will help our speaking.) So I think that we will be getting a lot more out of class especially with these extra things that we added. I forgot to mention yesterday that we had our activities meeting after classes. I did not bring tennis shoes fit for running with me, and I don't feel like buying any, so I did not sign up for the indoor soccer (calcetto) league. But I will be going to some of the games to cheer on our team. I did however sign up for the book club (because I'm already reading a ton, why not add one more book a month) as well as the photography club. I've never really done anything intentional like that with photography, but I think it will be a fun thing for me to try out, and a good way to get me to go find things around Florence.
Tonight I had a fantastic dinner. It started off with some pasta in a light red sauce with some bacon, followed by a piece of the chicken that was cooked in the oil, with orange, and almonds, and then finally we had a kind of filled pizza. It was the flaky crust that was used with the spinach and cheese dish that she made the other week. It was filled with tomato, fresh mozzarella, and something else, which I have completely blanked on right now. Oops! I will have to get back to you on that. It was very, very good though! I'm glad I have found something flaky and delicious like crescent roll dough! :)
Well that is all for today! Off to bed for me. Art History is early in the morning!!
You love crescent rolls! Hope the pencil brought you great luck!
